Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms Manchester United youngsters to feature against Leicester

According to The Guardian, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is likely to give chances to the youngsters when Manchester United take on Leicester. The Norwegian manager insisted that it was not possible to play a full-strength side for the Leicester game sandwiched between Aston Villa and Liverpool.

Manchester United are facing their five toughest days of this season as they aim to navigate through a fixture pile-up. Aston Villa have been dealt with but Leicester and Liverpool await. These are two crucial games for Solskjaer, especially the derby against Liverpool.

Maguire had to be taken off with an injury.

Solskjaer was critical of these fixtures being piled up within a span of five days and claimed that there was no way to play these games with a full-strength squad. The Villa win claimed the first casualty, with Harry Maguire taken off due to injury.

The manager spoke out on how a few youngsters such as Amad Diallo and Shola Shoretire will feature against Leicester to protect the first-choice players for the premiere clash against Liverpool.

“They’re in contention, definitely. They’re training with us every day. Some of the young boys will definitely get an appearance. Whether it’s starting or coming on at the end, I don’t know, because I don’t know what team we’ll pick until I see the players on Tuesday.”

While this fixture pile-up is definitely a concern, it gives Solskjaer a chance to blood youngsters such as Amad and Shoretire. Both have been featuring in the first-team in the Europa League and the Leicester game could be a good test for them.
