Manchester United to battle Bayern Munich to hire Fabio Paratici
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato (h/t Sport Witness), Manchester United are keeping an eye on Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici.
The Italian joined Sampdoria as the head scout in 2004. He spent six years there before moving to Juventus in 2010 alongside director general Giuseppe Marotta and manager Luigi Delneri.
Paratici was appointed the head of technical areas and sporting director by Andrea Agnelli. He has been instrumental in the Old Lady’s dominance in Serie A over the last decade.
It has been a forgettable season for Juventus as they struggle to qualify for next season’s Champions League. With them yet to withdraw from the European Super League, tough times may lie ahead for the Italian giants.
According to the report, Paratici is set to leave the Turin giants this summer. This could spark an auction by both us and Bayern Munich for his signature.
Both sides are in the midst of backroom shakeups and may find space for Paratici. While United are keen to put in a framework to help Ole Gunnar Solskjaer whereas Bayern are also in the midst of replacing Hansi Flick with Julian Nagelsmann.
United recently appointed John Murtough as football director and Darren Fletcher as the club’s technical director. With Ed Woodward also set to leave, a new sunrise could be dawning at Old Trafford. Whether Partaici will be a part of it remains to be seen.
