Solskjaer reveals Cavani is yet to make a decision on his Manchester United future

According to the club’s official site, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that Edinson Cavani is yet to make a decision on his future at the club.

The veteran striker was on point last week in our emphatic 6-2 win over AS Roma. He scored twice on the night to ensure the Red Devils took a giant leap towards the Europa League final.

United’s player of the month for April, El Matador has been a revelation at Old Trafford. He is the club’s third-highest scorer this season and has stepped up massively when needed.

Signed on a free transfer last summer, the 34-year-old has just months to go before his stint at United comes to an end. A popular player in the United squad, it is no secret that the club wants him to stay put for another season.

Solskjaer has now revealed that the player for his part is yet to take a decision. The Norwegian, however, retains hope that the striker will come through in the end.

“We have had some good conversations and even though the decision is still in his court, I’m still hopeful.”

“Maybe more so when you see him against Roma and I tell him about doing that in front of the Stretford End. That’s magic and I’m hopeful.”

Cavani is part of the United squad that is travelling to Roma for Thursday’s match. As our in-form striker, he will once again be expected to step up and make himself count.

In the event that Cavani does end up staying, United are likely to drop their interest in Erling Haaland this summer. This will free up funds that can be invested elsewhere.

Cavani still has time to go on his current deal before he makes his decision. For now, our focus has to be on the matches ahead of us. After all, there is still much to play for this season.
