Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recounts the conversation he had with Manchester United fans at Carrington
According to The Metro, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has opened up on the conversation he had with fans at the club’s Carrington training base yesterday.
Calls for the Glazers to leave Manchester United have been growing since their ill-fated role in committing to the European Super League. Despite withdrawing from it following the backlash, fans have only increased their opposition towards the Americans.
A group of them turned up at Carrington yesterday, waving banners that screamed ‘Glazers out’. They even had a face to face discussion with Solskjaer, a club legend.
The Norwegian has sympathy for those who turned up and has now opened up on the ‘nice conversation’ he had with them.
“I will always listen to the fans, and I thought it was the only right thing to do, to go and listen to them and speak to them and have a nice discussion with them, a peaceful discussion.’
There is always the scope for different opinions to be made and Solskjaer has urged everyone to respect those views that may be different from theirs.
“It’s important that we respect each other and respect each other’s views.”
A convincing argument?
Solskjaer has however refused to go into the specifics of what he told them during the short 10-minute conversation. In a nutshell, he appears to have conveyed his vision of what the team intends to do in the years to come.
“I said a few things about what I think the team will do in the future and what we spoke about, we don’t really need to discuss that.”
Whether the fans were convinced by the Norwegian’s words remains to be seen. However, they appear to have parted on good terms and with a fist bump to boot.
