Manchester United fans intensify protests against the Glazers ownership
The fallout from the European Super League crisis has seen fans take up arms against the Glazers, the Americans who own Manchester United.
Having taken over in 2005, the Glazers are yet to win the trust of the fans and given their antics, it is not difficult to see why.
The chaos involved in the formation of the breakaway European Super League has once again brought to the forefront the perils of having owners who see money as the bottom line. They are very often not in touch with the ethics and soul of the club that they represent.

While fans are taking the fight to the owners on platforms such as Twitter, some fans have gathered outside the Carrington training ground to showcase their disdain to the owners.
These fans have not just blocked off both the entrances to the facility but also appear to have gotten onto the pitch.
Albeit a small group, their protests could be symbolic in the greater scheme of things. For too long have those without any emotional investment in the team dictated its fortunes.

These supporters at Carrington have carried with them a number of homemade banners. These allude to not just the ‘Glazers out’ slogan but also a call for the 50+1 rule used to great effect in the Bundesliga.
The Glazers lost a key ally when Ed Woodward resigned from his post earlier this week. While he is set to stay on until the end of the year, he is effectively a dead man walking.
