Transfer News: Manchester United loanee Jesse Lingard eyed by Real Madrid, PSG, and Inter Milan

A report by ESPN claims that PSG, Real Madrid and Inter Milan are monitoring Jesse Lingard ahead of the summer transfer window as the Manchester United loanee continues to impress.

The Englishman has been in spectacular form ever since joining West Ham United on loan in January. Since then, he has scored 8 goals in 9 league games, more than anyone in the league since his West Ham debut.

The turnaround in the 28-year-old’s form comes after he did not play a single minute in the Premier League until February. But his form since then earned him his first England call-up since 2019.

Lingard featured in all three World Cup qualifier games for England in March. And he is a top contender to be in Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad for the upcoming UEFA European Championships in the summer.

Unsurprisingly, the Hammers want to sign him permanently at the end of this season but Lingard is now attracting the interest of the Premier League top 6, as well as clubs abroad. The Manchester United midfielder still has just over a year left on his current deal with his parent club. (h/t ESPN)

Lingard’s most recent exploits came last weekend when his brace led West Ham to a massive 3-2 win over Leicester City. They are now sitting 4th in the table, on the cusp of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League next season.

Lingard's United contract expires in the summer of 2022.

His nominations for Premier League Player of the Month in both February and March this year just goes to show his newfound consistency. If he keeps up this form, having him back at United would be great for Solskjaer.

But with just a year left on his contract, a decision would have to be made soon by the Norwegian regarding Lingard.
