Harry Maguire looking forward to facing England mate Harry Kane
According to Daily Mail, Harry Maguire is looking forward to facing his compatriot Harry Kane on Sunday. The captains of Manchester United and Tottenham will lock horns as the former’s side will visit the latter’s in a crucial game.
It has been a while since these two sides last met. Back in October, Spurs ran riot with a 6-1 win and Anthony Martial was sent off. However, both sides have gone on different trajectories since then with United sitting well in second place.
Our captain Harry Maguire though is keen to reignite his rivalry with Spurs captain Harry Kane. Both are bound to clash as the Spurs forward will try to outfox Maguire in our defence. Nonetheless, Maguire is looking forward to facing his compatriot on Sunday.
‘I want to play in the biggest games possible against the best players; that’s why I joined this club. Harry [Kane] is one of those. I know him from England really well. He’s a top striker, one of the best in the world and he does it season after season, scores goals after goals.
‘He’ll be ready for battle and I’ll be ready for battle. May the best man win. It’s not just individuals; it’s a team effort. As a defensive unit we’ve got to be strong, go there and get a clean sheet and give the team the best opportunity to win the game.’
