Transfer News: Manchester United still keen on Jan Oblak
According to transfer news from 90min, Manchester United are still keen on the prospect of signing Jan Oblak. Despite having De Gea and Dean Henderson fighting out for the number one spot, the club are after the Atletico Madrid shot-stopper because the player is keen on a move to England if there is any deal.
The Slovakian international replaced the impressive Thibaut Courtois at Atletico and has since developed into one of the best in world football. He has since made 294 appearances for the Spaniards, keeping 155 clean sheets. (h/t Transfermarkt)

United have been tracking Oblak for a long time and even now despite having De Gea and Henderson. It is understood that De Gea’s future is uncertain and his huge wages are a factor. Also, surprisingly, the club don’t really view Henderson as the first choice despite him impressing in the limited chances.
De Gea could be the most likely to move on given his wages and reluctance to be the second choice. A return to Atletico has been talked about and that would ease any deal for Oblak as well. His wife and child live in Madrid and it could be a feasible option for De Gea.

It is clear that one of the two keepers at United could leave the club next summer. Both want to play as first choice and United might just have to bring in a keeper to replace either. Whether or not that is Oblak, remains to be seen.
