Manchester United star David de Gea offered to top European sides
According to The Daily Mail, Manchester United star David de Gea has been offered to clubs from across Europe as his time at Old Trafford draws to a close.
The 30-year-old has been the first choice at Old Trafford for 10 years now. One of the last members from Sir Alex Ferguson’s title-winning sides, his departure will be the end of an era.
The rise of Dean Henderson has given Solskjaer a goalkeeping conundrum this season. While De Gea started for the season as the top choice, recent events point to a change in the wind.
Henderson did a decent job stepping in for De Gea last month. The Spaniard returned to his homeland to be with his wife for the birth of their child.
Despite De Gea returning to the club and getting back into contention, Henderson was chosen ahead of him for the weekend’s match against Brighton and Hove Albion. The Englishman has now started for United in their last seven games in all competitions.
De Gea too is ready to call time on his stay at Old Trafford, with Manchester United seeking £50million for his services. A major hindrance, however, is his £375,000-a-week wages. (h/t Daily Mail)
All eyes on Solskjaer
Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid could all be interested in the player come the summer. Of the three, Real already have Thibaut Courtois while Atletico have the world-class Jan Oblak.
Although Solskjaer has not admitted to it, there appears to be an increasing consensus that Henderson is the No.1 at the club. All eyes will be on the Norwegian to see who he picks for our Europa League clash against Granada on Thursday.
