Man United make plans for superstar in the upcoming season amid exit speculations

Solskajer expects nothing but the best from his players

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to keep Paul Pogba at Manchester United

According to Manchester Evening News, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to keep Paul Pogba at Manchester United and has praised his commitment to the club.

The Frenchman has been largely disappointing during his second spell at United. He has, however, had his moments where he has shown the impact he can have on games.

Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola opened a can of worms last December when he admitted that his client wants out. The player, to his credit, has since stepped up his game and is one of our best players.

“When he’s been at the club Paul has always wanted what is best for Man United, he’s been such an important part of the squad on and off the pitch.”

The 28-year-old only returned to action recently after an injury layoff. He cemented his return by scoring the winner against AC Milan in the San Siro in the Europa League.

With the season closing to an end, Solskjaer believes Pogba will have a big role on where the club ends up.

“Paul is a player we want to see at Man United and play well. Just to have him back fit for the last two months, he’s going to be important to us, we know he can be the difference between many, many points or going through in Europe like we did against Milan.”

An important summer!

With the European Championships set to be held in the summer, United are keen to get their transfer business done as soon as possible. Solskjaer is aware of it and has placed the onus of that burden onto the club’s negotiators.

“We’d all like the squad sorted as soon as possible but I’m not the one in the trenches with the negotiations so I will leave that to the club and so far I think we’ve done a really good job.”

Pogba’s future is set to be one of the biggest stories of the summer and United will do well to come to a solution sooner rather than later.

More Manchester United News

It is fair to say that United fans have seen Pogba put up a consistent run of positive performances in recent months. There is no reason why we would not welcome a change of heart that will see him stay on at the club.

Whether that comes to pass remains to be seen.
