Ole Gunnar Solskjaer provides Manchester United team news ahead of Tottenham Hotspur clash with Raphael Varane back in contention

Speaking in his pre-match press conference (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided the latest team news ahead of their trip to Tottenham Hotspur as Raphael Varane returns from injury.

The Red Devils have endured a rough patch in recent weeks but were without some key players for their clashes against Leicester City, Atalanta, and Liverpool.

Raphael Varane, who suffered a knock during international duty, has made a rather quick recovery and is now contention to face Spurs on Saturday. The 28-year-old’s defensive nous was missing in recent games, and Solskjaer will be delighted to have the 4-time Champions League winner back in his squad again.

Anthony Martial, like Varane, came back injured from international duty. The French international was just starting to find his feet before the break as he scored his first goal of the campaign with a fine finish against Everton. He will be looking to make an impact on his return against the North London outfit.

Solskjaer revealed that Paul Pogba is the only absentee in the squad after his red card against Liverpool. The Norwegian told reporters in the pre-match press conference (h/t Manchester Evening News):

“Paul is suspended. But, apart from that, it’s a fully fit squad. Which is a very strange position to be in, 25 outfield players and five keepers this week.”

The game on the weekend will be crucial for the 48-year-old manager as he is looking to avoid the sack after a poor string of results.

Regardless, with most of his stars back from injury coupled with the club’s decent away form this season, Solskjaer will be looking to churn out a statement victory from his players.
