Manchester United News: Dean Henderson wants to remain number one
According to news from Daily Mail, Dean Henderson has reiterated his desire to be the Manchester United number one. With the league action set to resume and all players available, Henderson starting the game is somewhat of a question.
While it might be premature to say this, it is very likely that Dean Henderson is Manchester United’s first-choice keeper right now. The English shot-stopper has now played his 6th consecutive game, starting in important matches in the Europa League and FA Cup, while also being handed rare starts in the league.
David De Gea has been out of action since the Chelsea game due to paternity leave and mandatory isolation after travel. However, it seems as if his undisputed position is now over given Henderson’s performances in the last few weeks.
Now with De Gea back in the fold, Henderson has spoken about wanting to retain his position.
‘To play for Manchester United you’ve got to be willing to do the hard work. No one is going to gift you the opportunity, you’ve got to keep working hard for it — and hopefully I can get the opportunity full-time. It’s all I’ve ever wanted to do.
I’ve always imagined playing for Manchester United in front of 76,000 and beating Liverpool. I always pinch myself every time I go out on the Old Trafford pitch.’
