Transfer News: Manchester United plan to go after soon-to-be free agents
According to transfer news from the Mirror, Manchester United could have a bit of a change in their transfer strategy next season. The club are set to go for players who have one year or less remaining on their contract.
Apparently, the Red Devils are looking at one huge signing, very likely Haaland, and that will eat up most of their transfer budget for next season. Hence, they will try to look at players who are going to be available on a free transfer or have one year remaining on their contracts.
Manchester United could do with quite some players in specific positions. A new centre-back, a striker and a right-winger should be on the priority list and even a midfielder could a welcome addition.
The club have identified the likes of Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos and others that fit the criteria of signings they want. Ramos’ contract ends this season and Varane’s ends next year. They do have to spend money on a forward and Haaland is the one they could go after.
