Man United target rejects two lucrative offers from his club as uncertainty grows

Manchester United target Gianluigi Donnarumma rejects AC Milan contract extension offers

According to Gianlucadimarzio.com (h/t The Daily Mail), Manchester United target Gianluigi Donnarumma has rejected two offers from AC Milan to extend his stay at the San Siro.

The 22-year-old is one of the finest young goalkeepers in world football and has had plenty of experience despite his age. With just months left on his current deal, Milan is facing a race against time to keep hold of him.

Making the job harder is the player’s agent Mino Raiola. The superagent is seeking a lucrative £10.2m-per-year deal for his client.

Milan’s offers so far fall well short of Raiola’s demands. According to the report, Donnarumma was initially offered a salary of £5.1million-per-year with an additional £851,000-per-year in bonuses if AC qualifies for the UEFA Champions League.

After rejecting those terms, Milan came back with an improved offer of a £6m salary plus £851,000 in add-ons. Unfortunately for them, this was also rejected.

This could very well open the door for the likes of United to make a move. The opportunity to land such a player on a free transfer does not come often and it remains to be seen if we will take advantage of the developments.

The Red Devils will have to contend with the likes of Chelsea and Juventus, who are both keen on the Italian international.

Manchester United already have two good keepers at their disposal

Decisions to make!

United already have two good keepers at their disposal in David de Gea and Dean Henderson. While the former is not getting any younger, Donnarumma is much more experienced in comparison to the latter.

The Italian is a performer at the highest level and could potentially rubber stamp himself as the first-choice goalkeeper for years to come. Whether it is something that will come to fruition remains to be seen.

More Manchester United News

From the looks of things, Mino Raiola could very well be a regular in our transfer negotiations this summer. Apart from Donnarumma, we are also involved with two other clients of his – Erling Haaland and Paul Pogba.

A tough man to deal with, United will unfortunately have to tread with care this summer.
