Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek tipped for Juventus transfer
Speaking to Tutto Juve (h/t Manchester Evening News), former Ajax youth coach Bryan Roy stated that Juventus would be a good club for Manchester United midfielder, Donny van de Beek.
Van de Beek joined United from Ajax last summer for a £35.7million fee. But he is yet to find regular playing time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he has amassed just 311 minutes of Premier League action so far.
It has even been suggested that Van de Beek was signed because United expected Paul Pogba to leave. With that not happening, he is having to settle for time on the bench.
Nevertheless, there is no hiding that the Dutch midfielder is struggling at the Theatre of Dreams. But Roy says that this was always going to happen considering the quality of midfielders at Solskjaer’s disposal.
“It was predictable, Manchester United is full of great players in his role. Either he plays, or Pogba plays, in fact Solskjaer thinks so too.”
Patience needed
The Norwegian prefers a midfield of Pogba and Fernandes, with Fred, Nemanja Matic, and Scott McTominay also featuring in the majority of their games. This has led to the 23-year-old’s United future being cast in a shadow of doubt.
Several top clubs have been linked with a move for the Dutch international. Roy, however, thinks that a move to Serie A champions Juventus would be a good decision on his part.
“Of course, I would see him well at Juve. He can play in any major European club, but he’ll just have to have a little patience. The right time will come.”

Pogba’s future is up in the air, with his contract expiring soon and Matic is not getting any younger. In such a scenario, it would be naïve of us to let go of a talented young midfielder like Van de Beek after just one season.
