Juventus to offer Paulo Dybala to Manchester United in exchange for Paul Pogba

A report by Italian outlet Tuttosport (h/t The Irish Sun) states that Juventus want to offer Paulo Dybala to Manchester United in the hopes of landing Paul Pogba.

The Argentine forward is now on the transfer list as Juventus continue to feel the after-effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. And Cristiano Ronaldo’s sky-high wages have not made things easy for the Turin-based club.

Andrea Pirlo wants the French midfielder at Juventus after he returned to Old Trafford in 2016. But since then, Pogba has largely failed to recapture the magical form that he showed at the Old Lady.

The club hope that offering Dybala would force Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to consider a swap deal for Pogba with the Italian outfit. But that is not the only swap deal involving Dybala that they are considering.

Not a bad deal

The report mentions five similar deals being pursued by the Serie A champions. Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus, Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix, and Mauro Icardi of PSG are some of the other players they are pursuing in exchange for Dybala.

Real Madrid midfielder Isco and Barcelona’s electric winger Ousmane Dembele, are the other two players considered by Juve in exchange for the former Palermo forward.

Pogba’s future already hangs in the balance as his contract is set to expire in the summer of 2022. There is no indication of him signing a new contract as his agent revealed in December 2020 that he wants to leave the club.

If that is the case and Pogba does leave the club, United would definitely want big money for him. But exorbitant transfer fees in a post-Covid-19 world seems hard to come by.

And in such a case where Pogba wants to leave and they can’t get a big amount for him, swapping him for a world-class forward such as Dybala would make sense.
