Manchester United injury news on international break
With the international break finally underway, Manchester United will have two weeks off to assess their injuries, tactics, results and future. The Red Devils are fresh off an FA Cup elimination at the hands of Leicester City.
However, there was some progress made in the Europa League with a win over AC Milan setting up a quarter-final with Granada. The league looks seemingly lost with City boasting a huge lead but United cannot relax as the chasing pack are close behind.
Several stars have linked up with their national teams while some will get a deserved break. There were some injury concerns for United during the last few weeks and below we take a look at some of the news provided by Manchester Evening News.
Mason Greenwood
The forward was called up to the England U-21 side but had to withdraw from the squad owing to an injury. The nature of it is still unclear but he was not risked and will return to the club to be assessed.
Marcus Rashford
While Rashford was called up to the England squad for the WC qualifiers, he was not entirely fit. But was expected to be so by the time England play their games. He suffered an injury in the AC Milan game and was subsequently taken off.
Rashford did not play any part in our defeat to Leicester and now it has been reported that he will miss the opening game against San Marino. Quite when he will return to action is still unknown.
Juan Mata
Mata has not featured much this season but he was also absent from the bench in recent games, stretching back to last month. Solskjaer confirmed that he is facing an injury and did not give specifics. He was expected to be back by this time but that has not been the case.
Eric Bailly
The Ivorian has not played since the first leg against AC Milan. He did appear on the bench against West Ham but there was no sign of him in the next two games. No clear news has emerged regarding his status.
