Donny Van de Beek opens up after Manchester United loss
According to Metro, Manchester United midfielder Donny Van de Beek has taken to social media to reflect on the loss to Leicester City. The Red Devils exited the FA Cup in the quarter-finals as they succumbed to a 1-3 loss to Brendan Rodgers’ side.
It was a heavily rotated Manchester United side that lined up against Leicester, with a whole raft of changes from the previous game against AC Milan. The likes of Nemanja Matic, Alex Telles and Donny Van de Beek were all handed starts.
However, it was evident that this side lacked any sort of cohesion as they kept making errors that ultimately gifted Leicester the goals. From United’s point of view, they looked lethargic going forward and hardly provided any resistance to Leicester.
Among the rotations, it was a certain Van de Beek who got a rare start. He did look sharp initially but as time went on, his only highlight would be the dummy he pulled off to let a Paul Pogba pass roll through to Mason Greenwood for the equaliser. He underwhelmed mostly before being hooked off for Fernandes.
The Dutchman took to Twitter to express how the side were feeling after the exit.
‘We are all hurting. We will come back stronger.’

Given the FA Cup was a competition that allowed Solskjaer to give some game time to the former Ajax man, it will be another blow for the player.
He has been given very few minutes to make any sort of impact and in the off chances he has featured, he hasn’t performed well. Quite how long this can be sustained will be a huge headache for Solskjaer.
