The Red Devils could be set for a busy summer and will need to strengthen various positions. While first-team additions are needed, whether the recent approach to bringing in young talents continues remains to be seen.
The Red Devils were said to have talked to the player’s representatives back in January. Vienna had then asked for £8.9m to the player but the deal went nowhere. (h/t The Express)
United brought in Facundo Pellistri, Amad Diallo, Willy Kambwala and Charlie McNeill last summer. Old Trafford is emerging as a home to talented young players and it remains to be seen if Demir too will join them.
Barcelona are also in need of a revamp and could target the 17-year-old. Presidential candidate Joan Laporta is keen on signing the player who could very well emerge as the successor to Lionel Messi.
According to the report, the Catalans can land the player for as little as £5million. It goes on to add that Demir finds a switch to United as an attractive proposition.
Following the signing of Amad Diallo in January, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer spoke of United’s reputation for developing promising talents.
If all goes well, we might just have another promising talent in our ranks.
