Club News: Talented youngster Anthony Elanga pens new Manchester United deal
It is good news for the academy as Anthony Elanga became the latest Manchester United player to pen fresh terms with the club.
According to the club’s official site, the 18-year-old has agreed to a new long-term deal that will secure his immediate future at Old Trafford. One of the best young talents at the club, Elanga was the recipient of the Jimmy Murphy Youth Team Player of the Year award last season.
Elanga has been at the club since the age of 12, steadily rising through the ranks with distinction. This new deal is a testament to his hard work and commitment.
A winger, Elanga has featured regularly for Neil Wood’s Under-23 side throughout the season. He has so far made 16 appearances, scoring eight goals and registering three assists.
The Sweden youth international comes from a family with a rich footballing heritage. His father, Joseph, represented Cameroon at the 1998 World Cup before going on to have a couple of spells with Malmo.
Elanga featured in the club’s only pre-season friendly at Aston Villa last year. He came on as a second-half substitute and showed off his pace and directness. (h/t Man Utd)
The news about Elanga comes on the aftermath of Hannibal Mejbri also committing his future to the club. Another one of our talented youngsters, the midfielder has also trained recently with the first-team.
