Manchester United fans react as Solskjaer admits to reaching out to his father for tactical advice

According to The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been discussing tactics with his father, Oyvind.

It was interesting that the Norwegian, brought in to fight against Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, discusses tactics with his father.

“There are many ways of creating. Sometimes I do have discussions — especially with my dad, he likes to say, ‘Well why don’t you draw them onto you? Let them come and press?”

While knowledge can be garnered from any source, Solskjaer has been unable to make the changes necessary when United struggle. Having been in management for 10 years, he is no more a novice and is expected to perform as such.

Solskjaer’s United are too predictable and have yet to show the flexibility needed to adapt to different scenarios. While the team evolves, the manager too must step up and add to his game. There is little so far to suggest that Solskjaer is capable of evolving with time.

It remains to be seen if the Norwegian is truly the man to take us forward.
