Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaks out on Zlatan Ibrahimovic

According to the Express, Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been impressed by Zlatan Ibrahimovic since joining AC Milan over a year ago.

The veteran Swede will be going up against his former side as AC Milan were paired with Manchester United for the Round of 16 in the Europa League.

Manchester United will likely consider putting their attention to the Europa League as they aim for silverware, something that has eluded them since 2017. The league looks pretty much decided with Manchester City looking clear favourites and holding a 10-point lead.

Ibrahimovic spent 2 years at Manchester United from 2016 to 2018. He was a huge part of their successes in 2017 but a career-threatening injury saw him take a backseat role and ultimately leave for MLS.

A European comeback soon arrived with AC Milan as he looks every bit the competitor at 39 years of age. Solskjaer, who recently turned 48, spoke about how impressed he was with the veteran striker.

“Zlatan, of course, I’ve been so impressed, I’ve got to say, by how his career has gone. He had a career-threatening injury when he was here but came back from that and went to the MLS, then came back to Milan and has really lifted them. They’re on the up and have done really well this season. I’ve been so impressed by him.”
