Manchester United will not start Amad Diallo or Shola Shoretire against Real Sociedad
As Manchester Evening News can confirm, Manchester United starlets Amad Diallo and Shola Shoretire are not in line to start the Real Sociedad game.
The teenagers were handed their debuts this week, with Diallo featuring in the first leg against Sociedad and Shoretire coming on in the last few minutes of the Newcastle game.
The Red Devils are 4-0 ahead in the fixture but will still have to negotiate a second leg at home before entering the round of 16. Changes in the line-up can be expected, with a crucial league game against Chelsea at the weekend.
When asked about Diallo and Shoretire, Solskjaer replied that they aren’t going to start and also gave an update on some of the other injured players.
“Probably not, Shola and Amad, no. I’m not sure that would be fair on them, they’ll be in the squad. Donny, Edinson and Scott, maybe available, not sure, I hope [so]. To build momentum, to go on the pitch and feel you’re playing well is important.”
The senior trio did not play any part in the Newcastle game, with Cavani and Van de Beek being ruled out with muscular injuries and McTominay being withdrawn in the first leg of the Sociedad game.

While their participation was left ambiguous, Pogba has been ruled out entirely with a thigh injury. Solskjaer said that the Sheffield United and West Brom games were setbacks but that he won’t dwell on them.
He also felt that playing on Thursday and again on Sunday took a toll on his players as they took some time to get going against Newcastle.
