Bruno Fernandes told he should be thankful to three teammates for Manchester United success

According to ESPN FC (h/t Express), Frank Leboeuf thinks that Bruno Fernandes should thank three of his Manchester United teammates for his good performances. Former Chelsea defender, Leboeuf has said that Fernandes is not the only star for Manchester United.

The talismanic Portuguese scored his 20th and 21st goals of this season to become United’s top scorer on Thursday. His twin strikes helped Manchester United overcome a tricky Real Sociedad side in the Europa League.

Despite his blistering start to life at Old Trafford, there have been doubts about Fernandes’ contributions in big games. However, Leboeuf was happy that the former Sporting Lisbon player delivered in a crucial match for Manchester United.

Apart from that, he went on to mention the names of Scott McTominay, Fred and Harry Maguire as the players who helped Fernandes flourish.

“Everybody’s going to talk about [Kylian] Mbappe scoring three goals, Fernandes scoring two goals and both being exceptional.

But you have to underline again for Manchester United the two midfield players in the middle of the park, Fred and McTominay, also Harry Maguire having a fantastic game. Without that, I’m not sure that Bruno Fernandes would have done the job.”
