Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson feared memory loss following a brain haemorrhage
According to Sky Sports, Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson feared he would lose his memory after suffering a brain haemorrhage.
The 79-year-old suffered the incident in 2018 but thankfully, he recovered and retained his memories. His fight to overcome the emergency has to rank high in his accolades to coming out unscathed by adversity.
“Losing my memory was my biggest fear when I suffered a brain haemorrhage in 2018.”
It was Ferguson’s illness that inspired him to make a documentary about his life. The film directed by his son Jason and titled ‘Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In’ will premiere at the Glasgow film festival in March. (h/t Sky Sports)
“Having my son Jason direct this film has ensured an honest and intimate account.”
The film is an intimate portrayal of Ferguson’s life and footballing career. As one of the sport’s best ever managers, the film will give an insight into what made the Scot such a formidable force.
Ferguson is the man who brought United back to the top and made us the eminent force in English football. His era of 26 years in charge is unprecedented and is difficult to imagine in today’s patience shorn era.
During that time, he won 38 trophies, including two Champions League titles, 13 Premier League titles and five FA Cups. An astonishing tally, to say the least.
