Manchester United team news: Solskjaer gives an update ahead of West Brom clash
Providing team news ahead of the game against West Brom (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ruled out Paul Pogba for the next game but mentioned that Eric Bailly could be back.
Bailly has a wretched run with a number of injuries recently. He was not in the matchday squad for the 3-3 draw against Everton last weekend or the mid-week FA Cup win against West Ham.
It’s a shame because Bailly had just found form and began to feature more prominently for the club since the turn of the new year. He has now not featured in any of the club’s last 4 league games.
However, in some positive news, he could at least be back on the bench soon. Solskjaer revealed that the Ivorian has returned to training and could play a part against the Baggies.
Bailly’s return is positive news
The news on Pogba, meanwhile, continues to be bleak. The Frenchman is nursing a thigh injury and will be out for the Premier League game this Sunday.
“We’ve had a rare opportunity to do a little bit of training and some recovery Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and not a game until Sunday which is a rarity for us. Paul is still out, Eric been training, that’s a boost for us.”
Manchester United are in shaky form recently. Failure to win against 19th-placed West Brom could spell the end of the title race considering Manchester City are looking ruthless.

In light of this, Bailly’s return to training is certainly good news as United would know that they need their best defenders if they are to win their first title since 2013.
