Amad Diallo on fire with one goal and three assists in 6-4 win for Manchester United U-23
A report by the Manchester United website mentions that U-23 side cruised to a thrilling 6-4 win against Blackburn Rovers U-23 on Friday, where Amad Diallo starred with a hat-trick of assists and one goal.
The Red Devils were missing a bunch of main players including captain Will Fish. The match got off to a bad start for the United youngsters as Connor McBride opened the scoring for Rovers.
Hannibal Mejri equalised for United U-23 before the opponents took the lead again. Shola Shoretire scored United’s second before half-time after being teed up perfectly by Amad Diallo.
Rovers scored the next two goals after half-time to give Manchester United a mountain a climb. And a mountain they climbed.
Joe Hugill’s 74th-minute goal was sandwiched between two Shoretire goals, both of which were assisted by United’s new signing from Atalanta. Diallo then got himself on the scoresheet in the 85th minute to seal the deal.
Diallo continues to impress
This is the second successive match where the United youngsters have scored 6 goals. Just last week, they trumped Liverpool U-23 by a 6-3 scoreline, where Diallo scored a brace.
The 18-year-old is impressing for the development team and could soon be in the picture for a senior debut. United U-23 are currently 6th in the table, 4 points off league leaders Manchester City.
Neil Wood’s side are definitely one of the most exciting young sides to watch in recent times. They are now scheduled to face Arsenal U-23 on Friday night.
