Manchester United will consider Ousmane Dembele if Jadon Sancho deal fails this summer
According to reputed journalist, Christian Falk on Twitter, Manchester United will launch a move for Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele if they fail to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
It is no secret at this point that Manchester United spent the entire last summer trying to bring in Sancho from Dortmund. However, a move never materialised due to the Bundesliga outfit’s transfer fee demands. (h/t MEN)
Of late, speculations have been doing the rounds that Manchester United could consider reviving their interest in Sancho in the upcoming summer window. (h/t Sky Sports)
And Falk has claimed that if the Red Devils fail in their pursuit of Sancho again, they will turn their attention towards Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele. The Frenchman himself came close to signing for the club last summer, only for the move to fall through late in the window. (h/t Daily Mail)’
Dembele has been with Barcelona since 2017, but has struggled with fitness issues during his time at Camp Nou. The ongoing campaign, however, has seen him hit good form, with six goals and three assists from 21 matches in all competitions.
Dembele, at 23, has his best years ahead of him. If he shakes off his injury issues, his potential has no limit. With his contract expiring in 2022, there is a chance he could be available for a reduced fee this summer.
