Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gives his transfer plans for Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo this season
Talking in an interview (h/t Metro) before the game against Sheffield United, Manchester United boss stated that Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo could be taking different paths this season.
The Norwegian manager spoke about Pellistri’s transfer links. And he openly admitted that the club is looking to offload him on loan in January in order for him to get more game time.
“There has been quite a few clubs interested in Facundo to go out on loan and that’s maybe something we will let him do now. We want to get him regular football in a different level.”
As for Diallo, Solskjaer says that the situation is different for him. He even hinted that a debut might be on the way soon enough for the Ivorian winger.
“Amad is different, he’s only come in and he’s training in a different scenario. It won’t be long until I can bring him into the squad.”
Both the wingers signed for the club in the summer. Pellistri joined from Uruguayan giants Penarol, while Diallo’s move from Atalanta was only confirmed 5 months later in January.
The Uruguayan forward has had a bunch of games for the U-23 side in Premier League 2. He is yet to debut for the senior side. Diallo, on the other hand, looks way more likely out of the two to feature for United this season.
The 18-year-old only had two senior appearances for the Serie A side this season. But he has a great reputation in Europe and Solskjaer’s words indicate that the club rates him highly too.

United do not have a traditional right-winger on paper apart from Daniel James. And one out of Diallo and Pellistri could very well make that position their own in the future.
