Ole Gunnar Solskjaer heaps praise on Paul Pogba after Burnley performance
Speaking to Sky Sports (h/t Manchester Evening News) after their win against Burnley, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said that Paul Pogba is showcasing his best version at the club right now.
The Frenchman scored the only goal of the game against Burnley on Tuesday. He struck a sweet volley from 18 yards out after he was found by a Marcus Rashford cross.
This was Pogba’s 3rd goal of the season and was pivotal for the team on the night. The win saw United go three points clear at the top of the Premier League table, overtaking Liverpool.
Pogba, who was the Man of the Match against the Clarets, has been in great form in the past few weeks. And his manager believes that the midfielder is playing his best football right now.
New-found consistency
This was Pogba’s 7th appearance in the last 8 league games for United, and Solskjaer believes that injuries and Covid-19 are to blame for Pogba’s inconsistent start to the season.
“We’re seeing the best of Paul I feel. He’s getting better and better every game. He’s been injured and had Covid.”
Paul Pogba has become one of the most important players in Solskjaer’s squad right now. His performances have inspired United to the top of the table.
Apart from his display on the field, the manager hails his influence inside the dressing room. Solskjaer says that the World Cup winner is always ‘one the lads look to’, and hailed his ‘big character’.
