4 Burnley players to miss game against Manchester United due to Covid-19
A report by Daily Mail mentions that Burnley will be without four players against Manchester United. The two teams will go head to head in the Premier League on Tuesday.
The match was postponed on gameweek 1 due to United’s involvement in the UEFA Europa League. It was then rescheduled to be played this week, with the match now having way more significance for the Red Devils.
United could go 3 points clear at the top of the Premier League table as Liverpool stumbled to a 1-0 defeat to Southampton. Both teams are tied at the top on 33 points, with Liverpool leading on goal difference.
However, United have a game in hand and can overtake their rivals before their weekend clash against them. Burnley, on the other hand, have had a tough start to the campaign as they sit 16th in the table.
Dire times for Burnley
Their problems are now multiplied by the news of the four players, who have not been named yet, to be out against the Red Devils. Earlier this month, Burnley’s game against Fulham was called off due to Covid-19.
Burnley avoided an embarrassment at Turf Moor on Saturday as they needed a Matej Vydra equaliser in added time to avoid defeat against MK Dons. The Clarets went on to win on penalties.
Two notable absentees from their FA Cup match were Ashley Westwood and Josh Brownhill, both of whom have been a regular fixture in Sean Dyche’s side this campaign. (h/t Daily Mail)
