Manchester United yet to confirm first-team status of Amad Diallo
According to MEN, Manchester United are yet to make a call on the first-team status of Amad Diallo.
The Red Devils agreed on a deal for the 18-year-old for a massive £37million on deadline day in October. The club is currently in the process of finalising the work permit ahead of the 18-year-old’s move in January.
Diallo is one of the best young talents to come out of the Serie A. Born in the Ivory Coast, Diallo came to Italy at a young age.

The Red Devils have been aware of Diallo’s talents for some time now. United have kept a keen eye on the player’s development since encountering him in 2016 in an U-15 match.
With the United Kingdom being a member of the European Union, English clubs can sign foreign players above the age of 16 with a European passport.
Thankfully, it would appear that the new post-Brexit criteria will not apply to this deal as it will be concluded before the ‘transition period’. (h/t Manchester Evening News)

Diallo was not the only talented teenager to sign with United on deadline day. Uruguayan starlet Facundo Pellistri also made his way to the club in October.
While he is yet to make his senior debut, Pellistri has been making waves for the Under-23s. The youngster has three goals in his last three appearances for the United Under-23s. (h/t MEN)

Diallo has made just two appearances for Atalanta this season, both off the bench. Given the nature of football in England, it would be wise to afford him some time to adjust before being thrown in at the far end, if at all.
What the club decides to do remains to be seen.
