Jesse Lingard seeking clarity on future at Manchester United

According to a report from Eurosport, Manchester United outcast Jesse Lingard is pushing the club to make a decision on his future before the end of the year.

The 27-year-old came through the youth ranks at the club and grew into a key member of the team under the likes of Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.

In fact, Lingard had started well in the early days of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s stint but has since withered off drastically over the past twelve months or so.

Lingard’s current contract with Manchester United runs out at the end of the current season. However, the club has the option of triggering a twelve-month extension, which could prolong his stay at the club till 2022.

And, Lingard is now seeking discussions over whether Manchester United plan to extend his contract before the January transfer window opens. In case the club isn’t prepared to trigger the clause, the 27-year-old is planning to leave the club in the winter. (h/t Eurosport)
