Edinson Cavani and Harry Maguire miss Manchester United training
According to MEN, Manchester United stars, Edinson Cavani and Harry Maguire missed training ahead of the clash against West Bromwich Albion.
The duo is among a number of players who have returned from international duty. With the two-week international break set to end, it is now time to return to club football.
The players gathered at the AON Training Complex on Thursday morning for Covid-19 testing and a training session. The club will assess their availability for the upcoming game against West Brom on Saturday. (h/t MEN)
Worryingly Maguire suffered a bruised foot while playing for England against Iceland last night. He is now believed to be a doubt to face the Baggies. (h/t MEN)
As of yet, there has been no injury news regarding Cavani. It remains to be seen if he was afforded the day off courtesy of having travelled back from South America. (h/t MEN)
But then Alex Telles, who faced off against Cavani’s Uruguay reported to training as usual. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be able to shed more light on the issue if any in tomorrow’s presser. (h/t MEN)
Thankfully, there is also good news. Apart from Telles, Mason Greenwood, Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford all reported for training. (h/t MEN)
All three were nursing injuries and could bolster the team with their return this weekend. (h/t MEN)
Left-back Luke Shaw was also seen reporting at the training ground. He is, however, suffering from a hamstring injury and is definitely not in contention for this weekend. (h/t MEN)

The international fixtures have taken a toll on a number of teams. Given the hectic nature of the current campaign, adding internationals into the fray would only have added to the players’ burden.
It remains to be seen if Maguire of Cavani have been inflicted by the overexertion of fixtures.
