Manchester United could face Chelsea threat in Jude Bellingham pursuit
Manchester United look set to face off against Chelsea if they are still interested in Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jude Bellingham.
This is according to a report by Eurosport (h/t The Metro). The Blues have earmarked the 17-year-old as an alternative to Declan Rice.
The English youngster moved to Dortmund from Birmingham City earlier this summer. He has lived up to the hype and impressed so far in the Bundesliga.
His success will come as no surprise for United, who were heavily linked with the player during his time at St. Andrew’s.
In fact, it looked like he would be on his way to Old Trafford. United even roped in Sir Alex Ferguson to show the player and his family around the Aon training complex.
Our charm offensive ultimately came to nought. Bellingham had other plans and decided to follow in Jadon Sancho’s footsteps instead.
Frank Lampard is a fan of Rice and is keen to take him back to the Bridge. However, With the Hammers standing firm on their £70million valuation of the player, the Blues may be ready to look elsewhere.
This has seen them turn their attention to Bellingham. It could turn out to be a problem for us if we make a move for the youngster in the future.
It is unclear if United are still interested in the youngster. If he continues to improve at Dortmund, it is inevitable that he will be linked with a move to the biggest clubs in the land, including us.

The report goes on to state that Chelsea could make a move for Bellingham in 2022. That should give us time to monitor the player’s progress and decide if we are serious about securing him.
The Blues have strengthened well this summer and have brought in a number of talents. United, meanwhile, continue to lack the killer instinct, we will have to be more incisive if it comes to taking Chelsea on for Bellingham.
