Manchester United ace Luke Shaw ruled out for a month
As confirmed by the club’s official website, Manchester United defender Luke Shaw is set for an extended spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
The England international picked up the injury in our most recent game against Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Shaw, who had assisted Bruno Fernandes for the equaliser, had to come off midway through the second period. He was replaced by academy graduate Axel Tuanzebe, as Manchester United held out for a 3-1 win.
And, having assessed his injury, the club has confirmed that the former Southampton man will be ruled out of action for a month. (h/t ManUtd.com)
Shaw has been the undisputed first-choice left-back at United, despite the arrival of Alex Telles this past summer and the emergence of Brandon Williams last season.
So far this term, the Englishman has featured in 10 games in all competitions, contributing with two assists. This ought to come as a blow for the 25-year-old as he was starting to get into his groove after a dodgy start to the season.
Indeed, Telles’ arrival seemed to have spurred Shaw to up his game. But, with him now facing a spell on the sidelines, the Brazilian is in line to get an extended run in the side.

Telles, so far, has made just the one appearance for Manchester United – in the Champions League win against PSG. Post that, the left-back was sidelined after contracting the coronavirus.
With Shaw now getting sidelined, he will aim to step in and make the left-back slot his own.
