Harry Maguire targetting future success with Manchester United
According to the Metro, Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire is keen to drive the club forward despite his recent troubles.
The 27-year-old has struggled both on and off the pitch. He was handed a suspended 21-month prison sentence by a Greek court following the incident in Mykonos. Maguire is currently awaiting retrial following an appeal.
The United skipper has also found the going tough on the pitch. He looks miles away from the player United splurged on last summer.
To his credit, the English international is ready to put the past behind him and look to the future.
“Obviously I had a difficult period in the summer but, no, I am fully focused.”
United have struggled massively at the back this season. Maguire was particularly culpable in our 6-1 thrashing at home to Tottenham Hotspur. He admits that despite the difficulties, the team is on the right track.
“Defensively we feel like we’re on the right track but we need to get the balance right and that’s our job as well, in terms of the attacking shape and the balance of defending and attacking.”
The players to their credit have responded well since the thrashing to Spurs. Wins against PSG and RB Leipzig have put us in a strong position in the Champions League.
While the loss to Arsenal was not the best of results, we cannot afford to dwell on it. Good results on the pitch have a way of manifesting themselves throughout the club and that is what we should be focussed on now.

Floundering in the 15th spot in the Premier League, United have catching up to do. Whatever may be the reason, it cannot be denied that we have blown hot and cold this season. A semblance of consistency will do us good going into our next few games.
