Fans react as Paul Pogba struggles against Brighton & Hove Albion
Manchester United pulled off a daylight robbery against Brighton & Hove Albion, beating them 3-2 at the Amex Stadium, courtesy a last-ditch Bruno Fernandes penalty.
It was a difficult game, with the players still looking scratchy and United were lucky to come away with three points from the game. Quite a number of players struggled on the day, but none more so than Paul Pogba.
Back into the starting XI after being rested for the cup tie, the Frenchman struggled to make any sort of impact. Lack of intensity, misplaced passes and overturning possession way too easily characterized his display against the Seagulls.
The Frenchman also almost gave away a penalty in the second half when the scoreline was 1-1 but was saved by the VAR.
As per stats expert Squawka, Pogba failed to create a chance, take a shot, make a tackle or interception during his time on the pitch against Brighton. He also had the lowest pass accuracy of any Manchester United player (71%).
This followed another disappointing performance in the season opener against Crystal Palace. Manchester United fans, naturally, were left unimpressed by Pogba’s display against the Seagulls and lashed out at him on social media.
Fan Reactions to Paul Pogba display
Are we allowed to criticise Pogba for being a passenger for the umpteenth time or is that going to spark outrage among his fan base – some of whom couldn’t care less about United – again?

The sooner we drop Pogba for Donny V the better. 5th season for that guy and not 5 world class performances to his name.

Not the first time. Think he’s had enough chances now. Time for someone else to start next game.

As bad a ‘performance’ as I’ve ever seen in a United shirt. Time to cash in, or he’ll be our Phil Jones is 2-3 years……

Pogba is done out here. Wasting his time with match days yet he gotta be on Instagram trying out a few latest strokes.

Overhyped beyond belief.
And yet, despite performances like these, United fans will be like, “Oh, he needs a great partner to unlock his true potential.” Bollocks.
