Manchester United make a breakthrough in Alex Telles negotiations
According to Portuguese publication A Bola (h/t The Express), Manchester United have experienced a breakthrough in negotiations for Alex Telles.
The Red Devils have turned their attention to the Brazilian after missing out on Sergio Reguilon.
The Spanish left-back went on to join Tottenham Hotspur after United refused to entertain Real Madrid’s insistence on a buy-back clause.
United are keen to bring ina left abck this summer. While Luke Shaw is a decent player, he has failed to hit the heights expected of him. More so his injuryiesalso remain a concern.
While Brandon Williams has been a decent deputy to Shaw, the youngster has looked out of his depth when up against quality opposition.
In Telles, they will be getting a dynamic player who is a threat all along the left-flank. With his contract set to expire next summer, Porto are keen to sell him this window rather than lose him for free a year down the line. (h/t Daily Star)
The player’s agent Pini Zahavi has been busy working out a deal and appears to have finally made a breakthorugh in negotiations.
According to the report, United would be expected to pay a fee of £18million with a five-year contract worth £3.7m a season.
