Man United could exploit La Liga side’s financial crisis to complete £28m steal

Manchester United are keen on Valencia star Uros Racic

According to The Sun, Manchester United are keeping tabs on Valencia midfielder Uros Racic.

The Serbian international joined the La Liga side from Red Star Belgrade in 2018. Since then, he has made just two appearances for them and has spent two spells out on loan.

He caught the eye last season, which he spent in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. A key player for Famalicao, he helped the unheralded side finish sixth in the league.

The Portuguese side also made it to the semifinals of the Cup in what was their best-ever finish in both competitions.

Despite a rise in his reputation, Valencia could be forced to sell him due to their financial crisis. According to the report, United can land the 22-year-old for as low as £28million.

A box to box player, Racic can also do a job in a defensive role. A well-built athlete standing at 6’4″, he is a dominant force akin to an engine in the midfield.

Racic looks up to his idol, United star Paul Pogba. In fact, the report goes on to state that the Red Devils view the Serbian as a potential replacement for their No.6 if he leaves the club.

If United do manage to sign him, Racic is expected to compete with compatriot Nemanja Matic.

Having already added Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek in successive windows, the Red Devils have a number of options in the middle of the park.

With the likes of Fred, Scott McTominay and Andreas Pereira also in the fray, we will be well-equipped to challenge on multiple fronts.

United will kick off their 2020/21 Premier League campaign on 19th September against Crystal Palace.

We finished 33 points behind champions Liverpool last season. Hopefully, this will be the campaign where we close the gap to the top and become a force to reckon with once again.
