The club had been focusing on signing the 20-year-old Sancho. However, a deal seems to have hit a stonewall now, with Borussia Dortmund repeatedly insisting that the England international is not for sale anymore, with the squad returning to pre-season training. (h/t Daily Star)
As a result, the club have now intensified the pursuit of Grealish. It is reported that United have held talks with Aston Villa this week in order to gauge the possibility of a switch. (h/t Daily Star)
Grealish, a product of the Aston Villa academy, was by far their best player in the 2019/20 season. The 24-year-old was key in the Villans surviving relegation back to the Championship.
Grealish is valued at £75m by the Villans, which they are unlikely to reduce after having secured their Premier League status for another season. However, Manchester United are reluctant to meet that valuation as things stand. (h/t Daily Star)

Grealish, given his proven pedigree at the top-flight level, would be a fine signing for us. However, the club needs to speed up the process, given that all our rivals have already made significant inroads in the transfer market.
