According to MEN, Manchester United have included Dean Henderson to the first-team squad list as displayed on the club’s website ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
The 23-year-old has made a name for himself during his two-year loan spell at Sheffield United. He returned to Old Trafford following an excellent season that saw him compete for the Premier League Golden Glove.
It may appear only natural that the goalkeeper has been added to the list now that he is back at United. But then it is worthwhile to remember that he was listed as an Under-23 player during his time out on loan.
Henderson is just one among five keepers included in the first-team list. The others are David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Lee Grant and Joel Pereira.
The 23-year-old has been subject to interest from Chelsea. The Blues have earmarked the United star as a potential replacement for the under-fire Kepa Arrizabalaga.
United is currently in talks with Henderson regarding a new deal. The player for his part has made it abundantly clear that he is not keen on staying put unless he is made the first-choice goalkeeper.
With Sergio Romero also in the fray, United will have to make a call on the future of their goalkeeping options.
De Gea is the current number one at Old Trafford. The Spaniard has however seen his hold slip after a spate of poor showings over the past two seasons.
However, with him having signed a new contract just last year, it will take a brave decision from Solskjaer to drop him in favour of Henderson.

Henderson is keen to star for United and England. Solskajer had earlier admitted that he expects the 23-year-old to become a star for both club and country.
Henderson was called up to the English national team last October. Current number one Jordan Pickford has failed to impress of late. This could give Henderson chance to compete for the number one spot in the national side for next summer’s European championships.
