Ole Gunnar Solskjaer unhappy with the facilities on offer in Germany
According to ESPN, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is unhappy with the training facilities on offer in Germany.
The coronavirus pandemic has forced UEFA to organize their Europan competitions as a one-off mini-tournament, being held in Germany.
The Red Devils passed their first test as they saw off Danish side FC Copenhagen in the quarter-finals. With a massive semi-final next, the Red Devils cannot afford to let their guard down.
Having to stay in Germany for the duration has taken United away from their comfort zone. Having become used to the world-class facilities at Carrington, the Red Devils are having to make do with the best they can in a foreign country.
“We’re used to having the best facilities around the world for recovery and preparation, we just have to make the most out of a difficult situation in conditions that.”
Despite the circumstances, Solskjaer believes it should not be an excuse for his side to drop their levels in performance. Citing that the facilities are the same for all the clubs in the fray, one cannot accuse United of being shortchanged.
“The facilities are not the same as we’re used to but that is no excuse.”
The clash against Copenhagen was the 60th game of United’s lengthy season. The effect of the long campaign was visible as the squad looked tired in the second half of the match.
Thankfully, we now have five days to go before the semifinals. Given the circumstances, it is a luxury that must be utilized to the maximum.

The next clash will be United’s third semifinal of the season under Solskjaer. Having fallen at this stage twice before, the Norwegian will hope it is a case of third time lucky.
United last won the tournament in 2017. Incidentally, that is the last honour won by the club too.
Despite seeing off Copenhagen, our performance left a lot to be desired. The Red Devils will have to be at the top of their game to see off either Wolves or Sevilla.
