Ed Woodward identifies three transfer priorities as Jadon Sancho talks break down
According to the Star (h/t Express), Ed Woodward has identified three players to target in case Manchester United fail to sign Jadon Sancho.
The 20-year-old remains United’s top transfer target for the summer. Sancho is also keen to move to England and link up with United’s prolific frontline.
As per the report, talks between Borussia Dortmund and United have hit a roadblock over the German side’s demands. They value the winger at £110m, while United are only willing to pay £80m.
With talks at a standstill, Woodward has moved quickly to identify alternatives in a worst-case scenario. He has identified three players to target if our bid to sign Sancho fails.
These three players are Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish, Tottenham Hotspur ace Harry Kane and Donny van de Beek of Ajax Amsterdam.
Grealish has also been regularly touted to move to United. The 24-year-old was instrumental in keeping Villa up this season.
With the Villans set to demand £80m for their ace, United could face the same issue as they did with Sancho.
The same can apply for Kane who has years to go on his Spurs contract. The England skipper is valued at a ridiculous £200m. If the amount was exorbitant before the financial crisis, it is now beyond absurd.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is a tough nut to crack. A negotiator who is known to give a little leeway, he will be keen to milk all he can out of us.
Duchman Donny van de Beek could be the cheapest of the lot and would immensely strengthen our midfield.

In Sancho, United can attain a proven match-winner who is a dynamic presence on the pitch.
We find it difficult to imagine how United can afford the likes of Grealish and Kane since they are in a similar if not higher price range. Theoretically, Sancho will fit us like a glove. The club should do all they can to sign him.
