Bournemouth are interested in James Garner
According to the Sun, Bournemouth are interested in taking Manchester United youngster James Garner on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old is an exciting prospect who has won seven first-team caps this season. United could send him out on loan next season in a bid for him to gather more experience.
A number of Championship sides are keen but Bournemouth have a strong chance of trumping them given their footballing pedigree.
The Cherries ended their tryst with the Premier League this season. With long-serving manager Eddie Howe too out of the door, the South Coast side are set for a fresh beginning.
Garner made his debut for United off the bench against Crystal Palace in February last year. He also went on to make his first start during the 1-0 victory against Partizan Belgrade in the Europa League last October. He has gone on to make three more appearances in the competition this season.
Primarily a defensive midfielder, Garner is also capable of slotting in as a centre-back. His versatility is an added bonus as it gives his manager different options.
A number of youth team players have made the step-up of late. The likes of Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay had established themselves in recent years.
Mason Greenwood is now a household name, while Dean Henderson also returns to the club as a much better player.

In fact, Garner could take a leaf out of Henderson’s book. The United goalie spent two seasons at Sheffield United, rapidly building a name for himself. He is barely recognizable to the youngster who left United for Bramall Lane in 2018.
Garner is held in high regard at the club. Earlier this season, United star Fred extolled the virtues of the youngster.
