Solskjaer sends a message to Ed Woodward over summer transfer plans
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has sent Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward a transfer message following the club’s 2-0 win away to Leicester City.
Speaking to the press after the match, the Norwegian has hinted that it could be a busy summer at United.
He admitted that both he and the club are aware of what they need. It’s now only a matter of whether they succeed in bringing the players to the club or not.
“The club know what I feel we need and we are going to try and pursue it. Let’s see where we end up.”
With Champions League back on the table, we will have to reinforce the squad to compete at the highest level of continental football.
It would be ignorance to say that an under-strength Leicester City side were not the better team during various stretches of our game last night. However, not only did we show off our clinical side but also ensured that it remains a secret that key recruitments are necessary.
It was touched upon by Solskjaer who appeared to hint at the jump in the quality we can expect from our opponents next season.
“For this team, Champions League means better opposition next year and bigger games.”
Solskjaer has fulfilled what was expected of him on the field. The onus now is on Woodward.
United have recruited well in recent windows. The likes of Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Bruno Fernandes have all contributed to our top-four finish. More of the same should be the norm this summer.

Jadon Sancho is one of the best young talents in world football. A superstar at 20, he is also widely linked with United.
That is the calibre of players we must aim for. We cannot afford to be left behind as teams around us strengthen themselves. Solskjaer has done his part. Woodward will now have to deliver.
