Manchester United in talks with Kingsley Coman
According to The Athletic, Manchester United are in advanced negotiations for Kingsley Coman.
Manchester United have identified a right-winger as a key summer purchase heading into the transfer window. Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho is the club’s preferred choice.
However, the Red Devils are not taking any chances and are also keeping tabs on Coman. According to the report, United have already held talks with the Bayern Munich star.
Although primarily a left-winger, Coman is equally capable of playing on the other flank. The Frenchman is keen to move to Old Trafford where he can link up with countrymen Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial. (h/t The Athletic)
Seen as one of the best young talents of his generation, Coman is an electrifying player with pace, control, and good dribbling skills. He has time and again proved at the Allianz Arena that he has that something special.
Injuries have however stopped him from reaching his full potential. He has sustained 25 injuries and has missed 76 games during his five years in Germany.
An ankle injury saw his miss out on the 2018 FIFA World Cup, a tournament that France won. Coman has made 35 appearances this season, a tally he has achieved only once in his debut season for Bayern.
A player who can both create and score goals, he has contributed to seven goals and assists apiece. With the German giants set to resume their Champions League quest next month, he could add to that tally. Interestingly he was the top assist provider in Bayern’s 2015-16 European campaign.
Coman certainly provides a much more dynamic option out wide when compared to Daniel James. The 24-year-old has experience of playing at the highest level and is a proven quantity against the best opposition.
