Bruno Fernandes offers financial assistance to struggling Portuguese side Aves
According to Sport TV (h/t MEN), Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has offered financial assistance to struggling Portuguese side Aves.
The gesture was revealed by Afonso Figueiredo, a former Portugal Under-23s teammate of the United star.
It has not been a stable few months for the Portuguese minnows. Not only have they not paid wages since March but also had to see their players travel on their own to Benfica after the keys to their coach were misplaced.
“Bruno Fernandes, in addition to being a great player on the pitch, still manages to be bigger outside him.”
The 26-year-old has proven to be a brilliant signing for United. Having joined the team in January, he has contributed to a massive upturn in fortunes for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
He is closing in on breaching both the 10-goal and 10-assist category even before completing 20 games for the club.
His arrival has also acted as a lodestone for other players to rally about. The likes of Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba looks like players reborn as they take their performances up several notches.
His performances also saw Fernandes pick up two consecutive Premier League Player of the Month awards. He is the first United star since the great Cristiano Ronaldo to do so.
Not only have we got ourselves a world-class player but also from the looks of it, a brilliant human being. Truly a role model to look up to.
