Manchester United are monitoring Torino captain Andrea Belotti
According to a report from Tuttosport (h/t Daily Mail), Manchester United are eyeing a summer swoop for Torino and Italy striker Andrea Belotti as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to strengthen his attacking department.
Belotti joined Torino in the summer of 2015 from fellow Italian club Palermo and has since grown into one of the most prolific strikers in the Serie A since.
Till date, he has featured 187 times for the Serie A side, bagging 92 goals and 19 assists. The ongoing campaign has been quite a productive one for the 26-year-old, with him finding the back of the net 22 times in 39 games in all competitions.
And, Manchester United are now lining up a move for the Italian international. The Red Devils attack has been in scintillating form in recent weeks. Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial have all been scoring for fun since the restart of the campaign.
Indeed, both Rashford and Martial have breached the 20-goal barrier for the season, while Greenwood has also scored more than 15. In addition, Odion Ighalo is available as a backup on the bench and has been very impressive since joining on loan in January.
However, Solskjaer has claimed that he will look to strengthen the attacking department with the addition of another striker. Belotti, to that end, would be a fine addition to the team.
At 26, the Italian international is entering his prime years and has been a prolific goalscorer in recent campaigns. However, United will have to stave off competition from Inter Milan, who are keen on the striker as well. (h/t Daily Mail)

In addition, Belotti comes with a £90m release clause for foreign clubs. The report adds that United are not expected to meet that valuation, but will have to make a bid of more than £36m that Fiorentina had offered for him back in January. (h/t Daily Mail)
