Ryan Giggs believes Manchester United need to strengthen in the transfer market
Speaking on Premier League Productions (h/t Express), Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs believes the club is still two or three signings away from challenging for the top honours.
The Welshman acknowledges the fine job his former teammate, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done at Old Trafford. The Norwegian has slowly but steadily built up an extremely competent side that is on a 19-game unbeaten run.
Despite that, we find ourselves a massive 31 points behind incumbent champions, Liverpool. Despite our good form, it is evident that there is still work left to be done.
The upcoming transfer window offers us an avenue to close that gap going into next season. Something Giggs is hoping United will grasp with both hands. (h/t Express)
“I still think we’re off City and Liverpool by two or three players.”
The club has done well in the transfer market in recent windows. Not only have we brought in players who have considerably improved us but also made sure they have the right character.
“Ole has done really really well in the two transfer windows he’s had. Good characters are coming in.”
The likes of Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bisaka, and Bruno Fernandes have been pivotal in what has been an extremely promising season.
This is the best time for one to be a United supporter since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club. Solskajer has brought back a positive culture. The likes of Fernandes have not just improved the team’s quality but also the teammates around him.
